Good First Date Question

The quintessential good first date question is not just a matter of directly asking someone to divulge both general and personal info for the sake of exchanging singles banter, but one where the asker is able to gather and understand many things about the answerer in a single query.

A good first date question often has what one could call a layered effect, the surface topic and its intention underneath.

A prime example of this is when someone asks: "Do you go out on a lot of dates".

Which of course is the topic, its underlying intention however is to determine whom you're dealing with and how they feel about you based on their answer, which would be:

• Never.
• Rarely.
• Sometimes.
• Frequently.
• Every night. (or something to that effect!)

Often the true meaning behind this, which is a good first date question by the way, is to determine whether the person your with possesses a genuine interest in you or there simply going out for the sake of going out, and it really doesn't matter who you are.

These meanings are of course assigned to the notion that the more frequently someone goes out, the more they are attracted to the prospect of dating because they don't necessarily reserve that activity for someone special, but go on dates readily.

A good first date question usually states one thing, but secretly asks many, and as a result it also yields many answers.
